Tonight I had the unenviable task of having EIGHT players turn up for 5-a-side tonight. Normally we struggle to get three and have to snatch a couple of players from other teams as we enter the pitch, but I advertised on Footy Addicts and our goalkeeper asked around and suddenly we had eight players. The task now was going to be how to get them all equal playing time without pissing any of them off?

This was a friendly, because the team we were meant to be playing pulled out of the league the organiser ran around and found us a replacement, whatever the score it would go down as a 5-0 win to us – sweet! We lost the actual game 11-2.

I didn’t play that much as I was clearing out the shed this morning and I dropped a dumbbell on my foot. luckily I noticed it happening and moved my foot out of the way, but I didn’t get it fully out of the way in time and it landed on part of my foot (my toes and the bit my toes attach to).

One of the guys who turned up was an old school friend so we went for a couple of cheeky pints in a nearby pub called The Rosemary Branch after the game and reminisced about school days until the barman chucked everybody out. It was nice catching up with him, even if he does talk about sex WAY too much and in WAY too much detail.

When I got home I turned on the TV to the news that Robin Williams had been found dead of a suspected suicide, that was enough to take the wind out of my sails, he wasn’t a comedian I saw a lot of, but I was a big fan of him in Mork & Mindy, one of the first American sitcoms I think I was exposed to.

I suspect it will come out that he was suffering with depression, the amount of comedians that suffer with this is astonishing consider their job is to make jokes.
