Sparking my Interest in Country Music Again

I was sitting in The Mucky Pup with Reiss last weekend and the conversation got around to different types of music genres and we both mentioned how country music was incredibly popular and profitable. This pricked my interest in country music again and I’ve been listening to a bit of Garth Brooks this week.

My mum is a big fan of country music and I was exposed to this genre a lot as a child. From her I got country and Shakin’ Stevens and from my aunt I got my rock & punk fix and my rap and soul fix from my uncle.

I was both delighted and saddened to read that he was touring this year: delighted because he was touring, but saddened because Garth Brooks’ tour isn’t leaving America.

I don’t know if he has ever toured the UK, but it would be nice to experience him live one day. I did have a look at garthbrookstours.com but as I said earlier it doesn’t look like anyone outside of America is going to host him this year.

Maybe there isn’t a big enough demand for this kind of music outside of the US? That is something to look into. I know loads of Americans love country music, but maybe it is a small market outside the US?

If you are a Garth Brooks fan and would like to book tickets to catch one of his shows then you can buy Garth Brooks tickets here.
