After all the shit that I’ve endured over the past six months or so I thought it might be a nice idea to have a weekend away somewhere. It does me the world of good to get out of London every now and again, I’m not sure why I don’t do it more often.
I settled on Seaford. I enjoy going there and had a blast the last time I went there a couple of years ago. I was hoping to stay in Newhaven as I like staying at the same place I did last time but they were fully booked. So I had to book with a rather snobby woman in Seaford.
I have a word of caution for anyone who finds themselves in Victoria station and needs to buy batteries … BUY THEM AT HOME. You have to pretty much take out a loan just to pay for them.
I found a pub in the station so I was able to have a cheeky pint while I waited for my train to arrive. I arrived early because I had to get the train at the correct time. I managed to get a great deal online and bought my ticket there for only £3, would have cost around £20 if I bought it in person. The only catch was I had to get the train I booked it for.
Thankfully this time there were no mental speed-snorting racists to keep me company on the journey and I read the new edition of MetalHammer magazine from cover to cover.
I hadn’t made any plans apart from just having some drinks. After dropping my case off at the B&B I went into one of the pubs and bumped into a group of ex-school mates who had just come back from the school reunion that they have every now and again and that I’m not invited to after I beat up someone who took liberties with me when I was a lot smaller.Â
I ended up staying with them for the rest of the night as it was obviously they were not going home early.
After pounding possibly every pub in Seaford we went to the town’s only nightclub, the shit hole that is The Trek. We were asked to leave after about an hour because the local boys did not take too kindly to London lads swaggering in and hitting on the local girls.
We didn’t really know where else to go as the pubs were about to shut. We were thinking of maybe heading into Brighton but then I bumped into an ex-girlfriend of mine who was absolutely hammered with some friends and invited us to go back to her place and carry on the party.
While some of the guys went off to the offy I went back with Dani and hijacked her computer like a sad bastard so I could log into Facebook and talk to someone for about ten minutes. Since my last blog post we have had several chats and have thankfully sorted a lot of stuff out.Â
I can’t remember a time when I have drunk more alcohol in one night before. I must have put away a good part of a bottle of tequila (they were two small bottles but if you put them together they equal a normal bottle) and my own weight in beer.
It was about 6am when we all fell asleep, just a mass of bodies lying anywhere and everywhere all over the flat.
Not a bad start to the weekend.
