I finally have some work! Real physical manual back-breaking work for hardly any money – and I couldn’t be happier!
It is only for one day, but it is the first bit of work that I have had since before Christmas.
Unfortunately, it is on the other side of London and is a 5am start, which means I will have to get up at 2am to make a two hours bus journey to the site. But even that is not dulling the excitement of actually having some bloody work!
Of course, having to get up at 2am the next day means I’m lying in bed at 11pm and I’m wide awake.
Yesterday Ian came round to help me do some pointing on the paving slabs in the garden. We ran out of cement so we soon cracked open the beers and had a good catch up while his little one watched YouTube and played football.
It was the first proper drink I’d had in over two months and it showed as after eight cans of Stella I was rather drunk and tired. It was great to catch up with him.
I woke up this morning with some pain in my hip. I’m not sure where this came from as I didn’t do anything yesterday except for sit in the chair in the garden. I’m hoping it is due to me sleeping awkwardly.
Anyway, I need to try and get some sleep. I wonder if warm milk will help?
