Is My Phone Smarter Then Me?

For some reason, my alarm didn’t go off this morning. I had set it correctly with a very loud song to make sure I didn’t sleep through it, but for reasons that only my phone will know it decided to not go off and made me miss today’s job.

I was beyond annoyed with my phone and myself, but then I got a phone call from another agency begging me to cover for another agency worker who hadn’t shown up for their shift.

Maybe my phone decided not to go off because they knew this was going to happen and that the replacement job would be a lot closer and would actually earn me more money?

Well, they do say phones are getting smarter.

It was a typical site where the guy I was working with spent the shift with his feet up while I ran around doing all the work. And I did it with a smile on my face. Let’s just hope I don’t go another five months before I get more work, eh?

The hip is still causing me some concern. I thought I had laid on it funny, but it felt a bit worse today, and I made a point of laying on my other side last night. I’m hoping it is OK to run tomorrow.

I received an offer to run the London Marathon this year for charity. I did it in 2018 and had a terrible time raising the money. I don’t like to ask people for money if I’m skint and need food, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to beg people to help me raise £2000.

I turned them down, but the missus was very keen for me to do it and even looked at other charities with a lower fundraising target (the lowest I found was £1800 if you were interested). I’d much prefer to get in via the ballot and then I can raise money for a charity without the stress and pressure of having to meet a target.
