Introduction To My Journey

In 2021 I became a masters athlete and started competing in masters events for Veterans Athletic Club (VAC).

Why did I do this? Because I really enjoy challenging myself, and I think competing against other masters athletes is the most challenging thing I’ve ever done or am ever likely to do.

I’ve finished last in my age group (40-44) in almost every masters competition I’ve entered so far.

Saying that I have won medals in the following:

  • VAC One Mile Champs – 2nd in age category
  • VAC 5k Road Champs – 3rd in age category
  • British Masters Regional (South) 5000m Champs – 1st in age category

In 2023 I decided to alter my training and lifestyle in an attempt to give masters athletics a really good go and see just how much quicker I can get.

I will be making regular updates with regard to the training and races that I’ve taken part in.
