I’m not sure why but today I got my ear pierced. I’m still undecided if it was some form of mid-life crisis. Maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll be chasing 18 year old women, wearing leather jackets and applying for a driving license so I can buy a really flashy car?
I didn’t just pop into a shop and get one either, No, I actually spent an hour walking to four different places to get it done. I have it in my right ear. Everyone who has seen it has commented that it is ‘in the wrong ear’ or ‘that means your batty lolz!’ I had it in my right ear for two reasons:
1. I have a small mole on my left ear and the woman said I couldn’t have it near the mole.
2. I didn’t realise this was 1983 and that gay people still had to use special secret signals to spot each other.
I have it in my right ear because I couldn’t have it in my left ear, if it doesn’t bother me why is it such a big problem for everyone else? Someone even said to me that I now have to get two put in my left ear to balance it out, what a ridiculous thing to say.
It’s only the men that have made the gay remarks, the women who have commented on it have said how nice it looks.
I personally really like it. Although I do keep forgetting I’ve got it in and do knock it a couple of times a day. I’m also slightly worried about taking it out in a couple of weeks in case I can’t get the damn thing back in again!
There is another plus point. I can now pretend I’m a pirate. Abet a pirate that is not bisexual and doesn’t hijack ships for their cargo.
