Since it was a boiling hot day we decided to organise an impromptu picnic over the local park with me, my dad, my two sisters and their four kids. It was to be a rather important day as it would be the first time my dad was to take out his new mobility scooter without the guidance of someone from the company or a physiotherapist.
At the last minute he decided he wanted to take the dog with us, this was going to be fun as my dog is actually SCARED of the park and was also in season so there was no way I could let her off her lead as I don’t want any puppies thank you.
The short distance to the park took us a bit longer than normal as my dad decided to try and run people over with his scooter and drive on the wrong side of the road. When we got to the park the place was PACKED, there was literally nowhere in the entire park that had enough space for one of us to sit down on the grass never mind our group.
Eventually, after some considerable searching, we managed to find a tiny bit of spare grass to sit down on. My sisters and their kids did not stay very long because it was incredibly hot and there were too many people around so me and my dad went around the park for half an hour.
On the way home he almost ran over a dozen kids and again drove up the road on the wrong side and almost collided with a car coming from the opposite direction. I feel as if I should sound an alarm in future when he goes out on his scooter.
