First Trip To The Vet

Friday, July 4th, 2008 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I took Roxie to the vet today for the first time. I know I should have taken her sooner but my brother was meant to book an appointment with his vet but for some reason he would not do it until today.

I only had £50.00 with me and Alan, the person who my brother lodgs with, kindly offered to pay if the bill came to more than £50.00 and I simply pay the extra when I have to take her back for another injection in two eeks time.

I only went for one injection but I ended up paying for two injections (she will have her second one in two weeks), worming and some super strong flea gel which come in a pack of three and costs about £20 for each one!

The bill came to just under £100.00 and Alan paid the amount and sometime before the next appointment in a fortnight I will give him that extra £50.00. He did the same thing when I had Lauen put down.

She met Rocky in the car so she was very happy play-fighting with him there and back. She is now happily sleeping behind me in my computer chair with her legs buried in my back as if she is trying to push me off the chair!

Roxie Almost Got Run Over!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I decided to take Roxie to the shops today for the first ever time. I used to take Lauren to the shop with me and it was a bit of a walk for her so I assumed that Roxie would enjo it as well.

I tied her up to the railings outside the shop and then I went into the shop and picked up my items. As I was standing at the til I saw this black blur racing into the main road, I threw my items onto the counter and ran out to see Roxie cowering by a tree on the other side of the main road.

I scooped her up in my arms and took her home and when I got in the front door I noticed that the lead I had bought her a day before had been snapped in half. As I went back to the shop I saw a woman who was sitting on the wall when I tied up the dog.

She asked me if the dog was OK and I asked her what had happened and she said that as I went into the shop the dog started thrashing about and had snapped the lead in half in her desperate attempts to get away.

I won’t be doing that again.

I Finally Got Series 3 Of Only Fools & Horses!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

After almost five days of waiting today I finally got the third series of Only Fools & Horses. I don’t know why the postal service in this country is so bad these days especially as more and more people are communicating via email rather than through the post.

The guy I bought the item from posted the item to me on Friday morning and I only got it today (Thursday) so it took five working days for the item to be delivered to me.

I’ve already ordered series 4, I think that will be the last one til I go on holiday, I need to save some money for my holiday rather than spending it all on collecting great comedy shos on DVDs. :)

R.I.P George Carlin

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with 2 Comments

I have just found out that George Carlin has passed away a couple of days ago. I am not sure what is sadder to be honest, not knowing he had died or the fact that his passing away did not raise any media publicty. I only found out because I saw someone on MSN with “R.I.P George Carlin” in their name.

I very much enjoyed George’s comedy stylings, the way he treated religous and political people with utter contempt really appealed to me. If you get the opportunity download some of his recordings from Limewire, I’m sure you will like him too. :)

Reheating Porridge

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

Isn’t it funny no matter how many times you watch something on DVD you never ever get tired of it if the writing is good enough.

I have the complete series of Porridge on DVD (series 1, 2 & 3 plus the two Christmas specials and the movie) and I have watched each DVD about 20 times each since I have had them.

It is now 2:11am in the morning and I am now watching series 2 whilst I am lazily browsing the internet.
