Just Making The Last Train Home

Last night I had to travel to Greenford for a meeting about the future of Acton Town for next season. I hope if I have to attend another one of these meetings that I do not have to go though Ealing Broadway at rush hour again! About Dean Saliba

I am 30 years old and I reside in a charming little hamlet called Bethnal Green which is situated in East London, sandwiched between Hackney and Whitechapel. I support Millwall Football Club and although I was born and bred in East London My mum is Irish and my dad is Maltese – a deadly mix!

I am a misanthropist so if I meet you and I am cold and distant towards you then you should know that it is nothing personal, I just hate you, it saves you the bother of disappointing me and letting me down later on. :)

I played non-league football for five seasons with Acton Town (who later became known as AFC Ealing) until they shut down at the beginning of this season. I am currently in the process of setting up a club myself called Bethnal Green Celtic and we hope to take part in a league for the coming 2009/2010 season.

I used to play for both Acton Town’s/AFC Ealing’s first team and their reserve team.

In my five seasons I have notched up 73 first team appearences (both league and cup), 1 first team goal (a fucking beauty from six yards!), 22 reserve games and 1 reserve goal (another fucking beauty!) plus countless yellow cards and red cards, enough to keep the club afloat apparently!

My main passion in life (apart from football) is professional wrestling. I eat, sleep and breath wrestling, I would watch it every single hour of the day if I was allowed to. I have been writing a weekly wrestling column called The Final Cut since July 2001 which has appeared on some of the biggest wrestling web sites on the internet.

I have also been fortunate to have various wrestling aritcles published in print publications such as Total Wrestling, Piledriver, Wrestling Wrap-Up, Toxic Wrestling as well as local and national newspapers in both the UK and the US.
