FMR Is Coming Back!

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

Well today I have decided to try and get Future Music Radio off the ground once again. I have spent most of the day tweaking and updating the website (which can be accessed at www.futuremusicradio.co.uk) and I also installed a message board, but it is a bit bare at the moment.

The station was actually doing nicely until we were forced to close early last year due to a number of problems caused mainly by jealous rival stations and an unscrupulous domain-hosting company who sold the domain from underneath me without letting us know.

But we look to the future, which is why I renamed the station Future Music Radio. You will basically find some of the very best unsigned and independent rock, punk & indie music from all over the world, plus a number of fantastic talk shows. We will even have a football show which might be presented by me, which should be heaps of fun!

I did not go to the House Of Fun FC training session on Sunday as the session was canceled and I did not have enough left that would enable me to go to both their training session this Sunday and then training with Acton Town on Thursday. Acton Town is my first choice, always will be. And with the news that Acton Town will be starting up a Sunday league team next season I think I might just bide my time and wait until next season.

I taped Royal Rumble for Reiss on Sunday. I don’t actually use the video for watching videos anymore because if you play a tape it chews it up, but you can record on it as long as you don’t rewind the tape.

I’d been using it to connect the DVD player to my portable TV as the portable does not have a scart socket.I’ve done it a couple of times for him before, and he normally sorts me out with a pint or two so I don’t mind doing it as I watch the show live anyway. I was not sure if it came out (I can’t play it back because of the play & rewind problems), but he told me it came out fine so yay!

I’m Back In The Line-Up!

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I’m back in Acton Town’s starting line-up again. That is what I like about playing in defence, everyone is so busy fighting to play in midfield or up front, there is no glory in playing where I play - yet it is one of the most important positions. :)

Acton Town recorded their first home win of the season against Freezywater on Saturday. I do not believe that it matters that they only had eight men on the pitch, we still went on to beat them 7-1.

Learnmore allowed me to go up for some corners in the second half and I almost got on the end of a beauty of a cross from Damien but the bastard thing would not drop and it was about a foot above my head as it went out for a goal kick.

I went out with Reiss, Jen and Lizzie on Friday. They took me to see a band called The Pirates, basically you all dress up as pirates and come along and sing pirate-style songs. It was a very enjoyable evening until on the way home.

Reiss and Jen had a row, Reiss then had a row with Lizzie, then Reiss and Jen had another row, the only time I forget to bring my MP3 player with me and three rows happen in one night!

No Time No Post #2

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 | Acton Town with No Comments »

I was called back into the starting line-up for our friendly game against Churchill Arms. I had been dropped in favour of a younger player who I believe is not better than me. I don’t talk myself up a lot but it did feel like a slap in the face when I was dropped.

Last Saturday we were meant to travel to Wandsworth to take on FC Tilburg Regents in a league game (I scored my one and only goal in our first encounter). I was hugely disappointed to see the game was called off. I saw on the league website that Acton Town were suspended so I’m guessing this is why we did not play.

I’m hoping that the club will get the problem sorted and we can give Freezywater a good-hiding on Saturday!

Glad I Went!

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

Muta was awesome. I am really pleased that I managed to get hold of the ticket and went along. I’m guessing Reiss was delighted with seeing him aswell, judging by the fact that he was constantly jabbering on about it all night after. :)

I will be writing a review of it pretty soon.

They put a giant green screen up at the bar so that you can not have a pint and watch the show at the same time. Apparently they have done this because they used to get idiots who would hurl their beers at the ring. What a shocking waste of alcohol!

The only downside was being stuck in front of these three annoying 15-year-old slappers with huuuuge breasts who kept yelling out which wrestler needed their arses waxed or not!

We came out of the show and got in a cab down to Angel to meet up with Jen, Will and Yvonne who is now single and on the prowl again, apparently. We ended up back at Will’s house and listened to some music channels and had a drink before leaving to head home.

The next morning I was as ill as anything. I’m not talking about scrumpy ill, I’m talking shivers and flu-like symptoms. I could barely move, I sent a text to Jayson saying I could not come to training and then got another duvet and slept for most of the day.

I’ve Got The Tickets!

Thursday, January 11th, 2007 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I got my tickets through yesterday to see The Great Muta on Friday night at York Hall, Bethnal Green. It really did make my day to get my hands on them. How sad is it that at 28 years of age I still get so excited about seeing a professional wrestling legend?

Reiss is a big fan of The Great Muta and we were tentatively talking about going up to Doncaster to see him when he was schduled to appear for 1PW. But now that they have gone out of business and RQW are having him at York Hall (five minute walk from our estate) I thought he would want to come along with me.

He was all for it when I spoke to him but now that I actually have the tickets in my hand he seems to have cooled on the idea. I think the problem may be that the show is on Friday and he normally has something planned with Jen on Friday nights.

The show ends about 9pm/10pm, which is still plenty of time to get hammered with his girlfriend.

Later on I will send him a text and if he is still not keen then I will try and see if I can get a refund. Although I am not sure if that will be an option.

I also got my nice new Converse shoes through yesterday, which was really fast as they were only sent out Monday. They look much nicer than in the picture that I posted up previously.

I shall be going back to training tonight. I have not been to the last two training sessions and I did not turn up to a friendly game on Saturday. But although I have been replaced by a poor player who just happens to be younger than me, I shall be going back to training to get myself back into shape to look for another side nearer my home.
