Running

Monday, May 15th, 2006 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

After the fitness training that I went through on Saturday, with Acton Town, I decided that I needed to do some extra fitness training of my own in order to be fit enough for the new season. After all, I have paid to be part of the squad and I intend to play as many games as I can until they replace me.

So I put on a pair of shorts and went on a run along the Regent’s Canal. I’m not sure how far I ran but I did run for about 25 minutes before I got pissed off with my dog and came home. When I got home I felt brillient. I used to be a very keen long distance runner, in my youth, and getting back out there again was great. I actually wanted to go right back out and run some more, but I didn’t want to injure myself.

I am going to give it another go on Tuesday, but this time I will leave the dog at home. She is old now and can’t handle too many runs over the park these days anyway.

I got so much work done today regarding Tapp Out Radio [www.tappoutradio.co.uk]. I finally caught up with the backlog of music submissions that I had been putting off for the past month or so and boy was it hard downloading them with a poor dial-up modem! Tomorrow I am going to start contacting small A&R record labels, and promotion companies, to see if they have any bands or singers that would like some free exposure on our station. Probably Wednesday will see me start my promoting campaign as we return to the air on Friday.

Shit-Stained Garments!

Sunday, May 14th, 2006 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I am really annoyed today!

On Friday I brought some new clothes. When I got home I noticed that on both pairs of jeans there were big faint brown stains on the bum area. I think it was shit!

You know when you drop something on your top and you don’t get it in the wash in time and it leaves a faint stain? That is what I have on both jeans!

Saturday morning I went to the shop and asked for a refund and showed them the brown stains that were on the jeans. They refused to give me a refund despite the fact that I showed them my reciept and all the tags were still connected.

The manager came out and everyone was staring as I started shouting about how dare they sell me clothes with dried shit stains on them. People started leaving the shop in disgust and they asked me to come into the back room.

The manager told me that they could not give me a refund as it was store policy and that they could only give me store credit, I was reluctant to take it because I was not sure what else would be stained with shit!

In the end it was either take the store credit or walk out with two pairs of shit-stained jeans that I could NEVER ever wear. I exchanged them for a couple of tops but I was really angry that they could do this.

Yesterday I decided to attend training at Acton Town. Jayson took me aside and explained to me that there had been a mix-up and they had changed the training times but has forgotton to let me know about it.

Mark Stone has been put in charge of fitness training at the club and he really put us through our paces yesterday! I almost threw up and a lot of others did not even make it round in one piece, they had to keep stopping. Being incredibly hot did not help either.

I really enjoyed it though and I hope this is a regular thing because it is this type of training that will not only get us fitter but it will sort out the men from the boys. I got home and promptly fell asleep on my bed for about nine hours.

New Hat!

Friday, May 12th, 2006 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

It was really hot today so I decided to get some sun on my arms to help clear up the psoriasis that I have on them. Apparently sunlight (or more specifically the UVB sunray) is said to be the best cure for it.

I walked along the canal to Stoke Newington and brought some new clothes and a rather funky hat. The canal towpath was absolutely packed with people sunbathing for some reason! How can you do that with bikers coming past to run you over every five minutes? Don’t these people realise that there is a huge park just next door to the canal?

After being released from Stoke Newington police station I walked back along the canal towpath to Bethnal Green. I had a quick bath and put on some strong steroid cream on my arms. I’ve just now looked at my arms and the psoriasis is fading quite nicely. :)

This stuff has put me through hell over the years, I’ve had it since I was born and it has basically isloated me from being a normal person. But I’ll beat the little fucker, even if it is the last thing I do!

Don’t laugh!

I took that with my camera phone, the image is poor quality but at least you can see the hat! Incidently that is the only picture of me (on my own) that is on the internet so you should feel exceptionally privileged!

Arrested Again

Thursday, May 11th, 2006 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

I got arrested today, that is the second time in under a year, what a naughty little tyke I’m turning out to be.

I was walking along the street, in a place called Stoke Newington, when across the road I saw this Jamaican guy with a yorkshire terrier (yes I did snigger to myself), the dog was peeing up a wall when the guy belted it on the back with the leash.

One thing that boils my blood is people who abuse animals, I crossed the road and by the time I got there he had struck that poor dog four times with the leash and even kicked the poor thing!

I won’t bore you with the details. I asked him if he fancied trying that shit with someone like me. He pushed me, I pushed him back, he threw a punch and I steamed into him.

Within minutes two coppers appeared out of nowhere. The male copper grabbed hold of me and got me to stand against the wall whilst the female copper helped the Jamaican guy up off the floor. The Jamaician guy scooped up his dog, as he was being helped up, and then made a dash for it.

The male copper gave chase and the female copper almost begged with me as she told me to stay where I was, I actually felt sorry for her. I did as I was told and explained to her why I was seen trying to weave him into the pavement.

The male copper came back, the Jamaican guy shot off like an olympic sprinter and he had absolutely no chance of catching him - even with a dog under his arm.

They took me to Stoke Newington police station and held me there for a couple of hours before they released me with a caution. They could not find the bloke so they had to let me go.

East London Promotions?

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006 | Dean Saliba Dot Com with No Comments »

It took me virtually all night, and most of today, but I finally managed to update the Acton Town [www.actontownfc.co.uk] web site and the Tapp Out Radio [www.tappoutradio.co.uk] web site. I also put a link on each page saying they were now under the running of East London Promotions.

East London Promotions is a little venture that I am starting up, basically to help me to stop becoming bored around the house all bloody day. I’ll spill the beans on this at a later date when I have got everything set up and ready to go.

How childish am I?

I spent most of the afternoon messing around with my new phone. I spent hours surfing the internet looking for little audio clips that I could use as ringtones. I even put on some free games that I found, I now have LMA MANAGER 2006 ON MY PHONE!

I know have Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s “Dani California” as my funky ringtone.

I got a text from Reiss today … Well it was sent on the 7th of May but I put my old sim chip into my dad’s phone, to get my numbers, and saw the new text. He was taunting me about how much he is enjoying Ireland whilst I’m stuck in London.

Ah well, at least it is nice and warm so the psoriasis on my arms is getting some exposure, sunlight is the best thing for psoriasis apparently.
