Football on Sunday could have gone a lot better. We are trying to get sorted for our first friendly on July 4th so we divided the players into two teams and basically had our A team go up against our B team. The first team played so shit that the second string team demolished us 8-1.

I have shaved my beard so I now no longer look like Neil Fallon from the band Clutch, this fact saddens me deeply. My self-consciousness stops me from growing a proper beard, it gets to a certain period and then it makes me look like a paedophile so I shave it, especially now I work in a school!

I have not been posting as often as I have/should lately. This is down to the fact that by the time I get home after work I am normally too tired to even contemplate writing anything. I could write something before I go to work I guess but I normally find something else to do. I’m easily distracted.

Despite the really horrible and tragic news that I received yesterday I somehow managed to fight the urge to return to my normal state of being a grumpy horrible bastard.

I brought the local newspaper today to help stop me from becoming so bored on the bus journey to work and to be honest I sort of fucking wish that I hadn’t.
I was flicking through when I suddenly saw a picture of a woman that I recognised, in fact not only did I recognise her but I was sure I actually knew her. It turned out not only did I know her but I used to go out with her about 12 years ago when I lived in Seaford, East Sussex.

Not a bad weekend. I decided to stay in Walthamstow on Friday and have a couple of beers in a couple of the pubs up there. Nothing exciting although Walthamstow seems to be a breeding ground for Polish alcoholics and large drunk loud women.

Football was heaps of fun on Sunday. About 22 of us turned up so we were able to have a proper 11-a-side game. I played in a 2-man defence for some reason, I pushed up often but the service was not there and hence I had a rather quiet game in front of goal.

Reiss invited me to meet him, Billy, John and others on Friday for a bit of a drink in a couple of pubs and a club. I declined the invitation because I had a bit of a feeling that Thes might be one of the ‘others’ (and it turned out she was) and to be honest I doubt it would have been fun for her if I turned up.

On the whole the past week has been a good one for me.
Work continues to be fun. We spent the week scrubbing the classroom walls and cleaning glass (this is what cleaners do when the kids are on holidays) and we finished early but did not want more work so we sat in the classroom chatting and larking about, only jumping to our feet and pretending to clean when we heard the supervisor came walking down the hall.

I’m not too shocked that Millwall blew the chance of promotion. To be honest I’ve been following them since the late 80s and I am very used to Millwall blowing their chances. Get rid of that cunt of a goalkeeper, sort the bloody defence out and maybe next season we might have a chance to blow it all over again.
